Drink More Water, get vitamins

Drink More Water, get vitamins

Vitamins are micronutrients that your body requires to stay healthy, strong, and happy. They play crucial roles in muscle and nerve function, digestion, metabolism, and the immune system. Like water, vitamins are essential to our well-being, meaning our bodies don’t produce them and therefore need to be replenished regularly.

They are typically split into two categories: water-soluble and fat-soluble. Water-soluble vitamins (B vitamins and vitamin C) are dissolvable in water and pass quickly through our systems. As they are essential, we must consume water-soluble vitamins more consistently than fat-soluble ones. Fat-soluble vitamins (Vitamin A, D, E, and K) require, you guessed it, fat to be absorbed and used in our bodies and their systems. They are stored in our bodies similarly to the way fat is stored, so they can accumulate and remain in our systems for much longer without needing to be as frequently replenished as the water-soluble varieties.

To ensure you are getting your daily intake of vitamins, remember that variety is the spice of life! It is important to get your nutrients from various sources and, lucky for us, we have endless nutrient-rich sources to choose from. Many fruits and vegetables are packed with essential nutrients, as well as meats and fortified foods like milk and bread, and by eating them we get a myriad of valuable vitamins. Another efficient and clean source for vitamins are waterdrop® microdrinks! In their many delicious and unique flavors, they contain helpful nutrients to help you reach your daily intake.

Here’s a breakdown of the many vitamins found in our microdrinks, and the array of flavors you can enjoy them in to ensure you are nourishing your body and meeting all of its needs:

Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid)

One of the most well-known vitamins, Vitamin C is found in fruits, particularly citrus, and in vegetables such as potatoes, broccoli, bell peppers, spinach, and more. It is valuable as it helps boost the immune system which aids in fighting the common cold and various infections. It also contributes to the creation of collagen for healthy skin and muscles.

Vitamin C is found in all waterdrop® microdrink flavors.

Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)

As the body does not produce Vitamin B1 by itself, it must be found in other places. Consuming food such as pork, brown rice, watermelon, and acorn squash, amongst others, helps us get the daily amount that we need. It’s a valuable vitamin that boosts your metabolism, helping you convert food into energy. It supports nerve function and overall brain health, to keep you focused and alert throughout the day. Vitamin B1 is also essential in maintaining healthy skin, hair, and muscle composition.
